I had submitted a support request on March 19, 2025, dealing with adding a PayPal function to a form. You did reply, but subsequently marked this thread as resolved on March 27th. I don’t know if you monitor resolved threads, so I’m starting this new one. The link to the original thread is https://wordpress.org/support/topic/add-paypal-to-repeater-form/?view=all. If this is the wrong method, I apologize. I am unfamiliar with your protocols. I didn’t have the opportunity to get you the information you needed at the time of your initial reply on March 19th, as I was knee-deep in art show work.
I hope I understood correctly what you asked for in your initial reply. If not, please get back to me and let me know.
The fee structure for our art show is configured as follows:
• Advanced/Professional, Intermediate, Beginner, & Copy/Reproduction are adult divisions. For club members entering in these divisions, the fee is $8 per piece entered. For non-members, it is $9 per piece entered. For the Youth divisions (Youth 1, Youth 2, & Youth 3), the first piece is free to enter, and any subsequent pieces by the same artist are $2 each. That is the first variable. The section that includes that information is not in a repeater, but I assume that fee could be deduced in some way from the form based on their membership status.
• The repeater section in the form is for entering the information on each artwork the entrant is submitting. As I mentioned, each submission in this section is multiplied by the per piece rate – $8 or $9 each for adult entrants, & free to $2 each for Youth entrants. For instance, if an adult, non-member artist enters 3 paintings in the Intermediate division, their fee would be calculated as $9*3 paintings=$27 total fee.
Ideally, I would like to be able to add a calculation field that would calculate the total due. Then the entrant could click the PayPal button, which would trigger a function(?) for them to pay the total due via PayPal (using credit/debit card, their PayPal account, etc.). Currently, when I receive the completed entry form, I have to send an invoice to the artist from our PayPal account directly, & then they pay that invoice. Sometimes this results in my having to “chase down” the entrant, if they don’t pay right away. So I would much prefer to eliminate this middle billing step. I don’t know how to add a calculation field to the form, however, so I would greatly appreciate any guidance on that, assuming this ideal scenario is even possible.
You wrote in your initial response, “When you add a PayPal field in Forminator – it would be added to the form however, it would not function until configured and would show the notice as in the screenshot here: https://monosnap.com/file/FidzZltcHDitqHFKd0LD1LgtbMPMBP
Can you please confirm if you are seeing the notice as in the screenshot I shared above? If not, we can review the form export you shared with us and then check about the PayPal button that you are referring to.” That box doesn’t appear when I try to add the PayPal button to the form. I have not added a PayPal button to the form, as I didn’t want to mess anything up. If you need me to do that & resubmit the export, please let me know.
This is the export link for the current form structure you requested – https://pastebin.com/c74shkaf.
I hope all this makes sense to you. As I said, please let me know if any information is missing or unclear, & I will try again. Thank you for your time, & have a great day!
